CSI and BITW

I finally made a scrapbook layout and this one came together pretty quickly so I'm happy (ah the small things...)! I'm dropping these off over at 2 different challenge blogs:  C.S.I color, stories, inspiration and Bird is the Word.  The photo on this page was taken on my baby girl's 8 month birthday and it's actually got mom (me) in the picture (which is a rarity) so again it makes me happy :)  I also actually journaled on the layout itself and found myself pleased with that (since I usually journal in the back)...thank you to CSI for the encouragement!

I applied gesso to the background with a palette knife and stamps, used a stencil and acrylic paints, and sprayed some glimmer mist here and there.



I doodled the large circles with glue and sprinkled glitter over it for some shine:)

    Love this, Miae! Your glue-doodling (gloodling?) is SO cool! Looks great with the dark background and the gesso. Perfect layout, and hooray for mom getting into a picture! Lol!

    Oooh...this looks awesome! I love the graphic artsy feel with the mix of patterns and textures. And your doodling totally rocks! Yay for getting yourself in the photo too! :)

    woah there is so much awesome about this layout! i love the glue/glitter doodles the most, but the colour on black and the messy bitty underlayers are wow too!

    I have one of those glue pens! I'm gonna have to try using it! I love how much pop you are getting from the black background paper. This is a beautiful page- lots of experimenting with techniques which I always love because I learn as well.

    Seriously inspirational! I love the glittered circle and whatever the stencil you used to get that checkered patter...I WANT!!! I feel like I always say the same thing...you are amazing girl!
