Old news is that we've changed our blog address to:
truexoxoscrapbooking.wordpress.com
Secondly we've got a new blog header! Congrats to Mary Chong who designed it! Great job :)
Finally, this month we've got a new challenge, the UNconventional color challenge...we were challenged to either use colors that didn't typically "go" together or colors that we didn't like to scrap with.
Here's my page:
I love neutrals on others' pages but find I have a tough time of using it myself. I'm more of a brights kinda girl so my challenge to myself was to make a page with primarily browns and creams. Of course I HAD to throw a touch of mauve in there;)
Most everything is homemade. The fabric flowers I made out of muslin and the paper flowers were a gift from Krista aka {Puppet}...thank you! The background is calligraphy paper that I painted, misted, and stamped. I then distressed some plain notebook paper with distress inks and tore some cardboard to tuck under the photo. Some masking tape, some washi tape, some twine and of course some gesso and I was done.

And you know what? I like it! This might encourage me to come out of my neutral shell..... So what colors are you "afraid" of? Try you hand at it and link it up over at True XOXO!!
Thank you so much for all your visits and comments.........cheers!
Its funny, I've been thinking lately that I am liking the neutrals more and more, and I wish I could scrap more of my stuff in those colours. I just can't get enough of it! The colours I am afraid of is basically anything bright paired with a plain white bg. I don't think I can do it, though I've been thinking of challenging myself to and see how it turns out...fingers crossed...!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! Take that white background and own it..change it to work with the brights:)
DeleteWow! This is gorgeous! I love the neutral colour palette and all the homemade elements Miae! Looks awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Miae! You are my hero! I am in awe of all that handmade, something-from-nothing goodness you've created for this layout! Just gorgeous! The colors I am afraid of?? Yellow and purple. Believe it or not, I had a bad experience with yellow and purple in Kindergarten, and I am apparently still traumatized! Lol!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!!! I love it sooo much!!! You have certainly ROCKED this challenge! I'll have to check out this site - I'd be afraid of this challenge too - but for sure it's worth doing! Thanks for sharing and you are very welcome for the intro to Scrap for Help! It's a very easy blog to play along with isn't it - and it's fun to use "rubbish" - so to speak! Take care! :D
