Allt Om Scrap Guest!

Hi everyone,

June is almost at an end so this announcement is waaaayyyyyy late: I was a guest designer over at Allt Om Scrap , a Swedish papercrafting blog with inspiration and challenges. When they asked me to be a guest I was so happy answered with a big "yes"!

I made a video tutorial about how I use watercolor paint to make my own layout backgrounds and I participated in their Gold Challenge.

Here's the video:

Here's what that final page looked like:

And here is my page for the Gold Challenge. I decided lots of gold would be more fun than a little here so I went to town with all my gold, glittery products.

The frames and paint strips are from Wilna Furstenburg. Her pages are whimsical, bright, beautiful and she has lots of cool digital designs in her shop. I was excited to come across her products!

I cut everything out on thick, watercolor paper. The paint strips I misted and tapped on mica powders. The large, ornate frame I painted and glittered, and the smaller frames I painted with Twinkling H2Os.

The "Gold" title is old chipboard that didn't match. I lightly sanded the top, covered with gesso, painted with Tattered Angels High Impact paint, then sprinkled with glitter.

In real life, this page really glimmers and shines!

Thanks for visiting!

The Crafter's Workshop - A Little Piece of Paradise

Hi everyone,

I've got a layout up at The Crafter's Workshop with how to's and all! I used super gloss heavy gel to make the page so if you're interested, please go have a look!

I took this photo on our recent trip to St. Maarten. The water, the sand, the sky.....ahhhh, seriously beautiful! My eldest is just looking so contented here...she couldn't get enough of the beaches. I wanted the page to have some flowing movement, feel tranquil yet fun. For me feathers just lend themselves to movement and TCW has feather stencils both big and small.

I also used TCW Mini Letters Collage in the background...I like using alpha numerics on my kids pages, something about school and all that ;)

Oh and those canvas circles are cut out after using TCW Mini Circles Regiment. One last close up.....

Again if you're interested in how I made this page, head on over to The Crafter's Workshop! Thanks a ton for visiting!

Supplies:

VLVS Hexagon Stamp
Canvas Corp canvas sheet
Tattered Angels High Impact paint
Angora Watercolors

UmWowStudio and Pan Pastels - The Pen is Mightier

Hi everyone,

This month at UmWowStudio we're using Pan Pastels on our projects! Oh the colors are so beautiful, and for a powder, they're almost rich and creamy!

I've got my project up there now with some explanations on how I used Pan Pastels on the page so I'd love it if you'd head over for a quick visit...thank you!

Of course my title is from the line "The pen is mightier than the sword" from the play Richelieu. I think that is a fine quote and though I've used it on an art journal page, I've been wanting to use it on a page for some time. And large, lovely feathers like these by UWS just make me think of quills. Then there's the sweet photo of my youngest "writing" while her sister was doing homework. Put it all together and there you have my page :)

I used paper from the 7Dots Studio Nature Walk collection and the word stickers too. Head over to the UmWowStudio blog to find out how I altered the feathers.

I made this little cluster with flair, and chippies from UWS. The felt (which was originally white) is from my stash and that lovely resin flower is from the sweet Helene Bogren

Just showing a close up of the "ink" and circles from the Circle Confetti Mask.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:
UWS Soar Tag
UWS Layered Circles
UWS Butterfly Kisses Flair

Kreative Koncepts Color Challege - You & Me

Hi everyone!

Well, I'm sad to say that this is my last Color Challenge with Kreative Koncepts. The time has gone by quickly and I thoroughly enjoyed working with the challenges that Zeneva made for us!

This color challenge was a unique one and I really enjoyed it! I had fun pulling out lots of my green supplies and working them into the page. And of course, making a dent in my stash always puts a smile on my face :)

I'm going to laugh everytime I see this page because green is not generally considered a romantic color and some of those green splatter marks even remind me (dare I say) of mold on a petri dish!! But you know what, I love this "days gone by" photo of me and my hubs at our friends' wedding and humor is always good ;)

It's a bold combo and I hope it challenges and inspires you!

I've had these Sassafras letter forever and finally I got to use them!

Glitter, ink, paint, rhinestones, washi tape....I threw them all in there...

There's a bit of the TCW Specimans stencil that I used.

So I bid farewell to Kreative Koncepts, thanks for having me on the team and best wishes to all the talented, wonderful ladies I worked with!

Last Tutorial for Kreative Koncepts - A Video

Hi everyone,

I've been on vacation for the past week on the lovely island of St. Maarten...such beautiful waters and beaches! I'll share some photos down below...

And I also wanted to share my last tutorial for Kreative Koncepts. It's a video I made on how to make a nifty background for a scrapbook page or maybe an art journal.

Here's the page (which many of you have already seen before):

Here are some photos from last weeks trip...

My oldest was so so happy!

Doing a little exploring with the little one!

The perfect playground!

Grandma got to spend loads of time with the kids (and no she's not wanting
to choke them ;))
Thanks for stopping by and I really hope you found the video interesting!

Kreative Koncepts Sketch Challenge - You Two Color Our World

Hi everyone,

There's a very bold, new sketch up at Kreative Koncepts! That big triangle reminded me of pie wedges so here's my take:

What do you think about this sketch?

I made each wedge it's own little mixed media slice. It was fun making those backgrounds! I went crazy with my TCW stencils :) And my little girls have grown so much since that photo was taken.....

I love to see all the creative handwriting that people do on art journals and such so I had a go of it on on that dragonfly :)

Have a wonderful day and hope you play along with that sketch!
